Job Summary

Please note that salary will be pro-rated for less than 35 hours per week.

25-hour Early Years Worker

Working pattern: Monday - Friday, 1pm - 6pm

You will be part of a team supporting the development of high-quality early years services for children and families. Your responsibilities include providing children with appropriate experiences and learning opportunities aligned with local and national curriculum guidance and care standards. You will also help create a safe, caring, stimulating, and inclusive environment for parents and families.

Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, articulate, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of confidentiality importance.

Applicants must hold a relevant childcare qualification as specified in the role profile.


PVG / Disclosure Scotland

All roles within East Dunbartonshire Council requiring PVG/Disclosure checks will adhere to the following criteria:

If the role is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment confirmation. The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary payment, and in some cases, in installments after employment begins, subject to approval. If the employee leaves before the deduction, the full amount will be deducted from the final salary.

This requirement applies to both new applicants and existing employees applying for roles necessitating a PVG/Disclosure check.
