Position
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent ASH Consultant – Unscheduled Care based at University Hospital Ayr.
You Will
What you will do:
* Work with key stakeholders across acute, primary care and community services including health, social care, third sector and public health.
* Provide an strong interface between North, South and East Ayrshire HSCP services to streamline patient care
* Deliver on the agreed KPIs aligned to the Hip Fracture Audit, DWD, D2A and the frailty pathway
* Provide AHP leadership to the MDT within Trauma and Orthopaedics with a strong focus on improving orthogeriatric care and reducing hospital length of stay
* Lead on education and training across Trauma and Orthopaedics

Knowledge, Training And/Or Experience Required To Do The Job
You must hold a relevant qualification in one of the Allied Health Professions and have active registration with HCPC. You will be able to evidence Masters level education, experience of leading a clinical team, and advanced clinical skills in acute assessment / care and community rehabilitation.

Additional Information About Changes to Working Week
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
