We're hiring!Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants to work across a range of vibrant and supportive special needs schools in Stockport. These roles offer flexible supply work, long-term placements, and the chance to join a rewarding sector where your care and expertise truly matter.
About the Role:
You will be supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs including autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and medical needs. Your role may include:
* One-to-one or small group support in the classroom
* Assisting with personal care routines, including toileting and feeding
* Administering or supporting with PEG feeding (training provided if needed)
* Encouraging social and emotional development
* Helping students to access the curriculum in a meaningful way
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience working in an SEN setting (school, residential, care)
* Comfortable and experienced with personal care tasks
* Trained or experienced in PEG feeding (or willingness to undergo training)
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and communication
* Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different school environments
Desirable but not essential:
* An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
* Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS training
