About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a busy maintenance team. The successful candidate will carry out both electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant, equipment, and building services, ensuring operations run efficiently and safely.
Role Summary
Identify and manage risks relating to on-site equipment, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, and improving machinery performance
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes (PPM)
Use modern equipment and technologies to maintain a productive working environment
Liaise with clients regarding maintenance requirements and machinery PPM schedules
Fault finding on a wide range of machinery and equipment
Support the team in maintaining high health & safety standards
Provide electrical and mechanical expertise on heavy industrial machinery and overhead cranes
Write and follow Risk Assessments, ensuring safe working practices at all times
Complete all documentation in line with company procedures and legislation
Work on three-phase systems up to 440V
Maintain motors, gearboxes, valves, and systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
Use mobile devices and CAFM systems to log and complete maintenance tasks
Plan daily workload using email and scheduling tools to ensure efficiency
Liaise with site services to resolve building services issues
Take responsibility on site when required and deputise for leadership during absence
Work overtime when required, including nights and weekends
Carry out ad hoc duties as neededExperience Required
Recognised or time-served apprenticeship
Strong experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance
Electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2, 17th/18th Edition or equivalent)
Mechanical qualifications to a suitable standard (City & Guilds or equivalent)
Strong multi-skilled capability (electrical and mechanical)
Experience with three-phase motors, drives, and inverters
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
PLC diagnostics and repair experience
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Electrical and/or Mechanical disciplines
Experience supervising contractors
Ability to write Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Understanding of Permit to Work systemsDesirable
Working at Height qualification

AP (Authorised Person) qualifications
Experience within heavy engineering environments
