Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Operator to join our clients precision manufacturing team based in Stockton-on-Tees. Youll be part of a fast-paced production environment, operating CNC machinery such as lathes, mills, or plasma cutters to produce high-quality steel components. The role involves monitoring machine performance, ensuring precision, and maintaining quality and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator — or someone with a strong mechanical or engineering background who is eager to learn and develop their CNC skills through structured on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
* The production of high quality steel components via the operation of CNC Machining Centres, inclusive of:
* Operate CNC machines (milling, turning, grinding, or other equipment) according to established procedures.
* Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
* Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
* Perform basic machine adjustments, offsets, and tool changes as required.
* Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
* Inspect quality of parts to maintain high standards.
* Inspect all equipment to ensure its safe working condition.
Qualifications
* Experience with CNC milling or lathe machines.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
* A keen eye for detail and good working standard / ethic.
* NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or similar discipline would be beneficial but not essential.
* Previous experience operating handheld tools would be beneficial but not essential.
* Previous experience using engineering drawings would be beneficial but not essential.
Working times
Day Shift - Monday - Thursday 06:00 - 14:15; Friday 06:00 - 12:45
Back Shift (If Required) - Monday - Thursday 14:15 - 22:30; Friday 12:45 - 19:30
Pay Rates
Starting at £12.37 depending on experience. Shift allowance and overtime available
