Job Description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading manufacturer specialising in innovative building solutions to recruit a SHEQ Officer.
This is a hands-on role, reporting directly to the Production Manager, where you will be instrumental in delivering the SHEQ strategy and embedding a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the business.
In your new role:
* Promote Health & Safety across the site, challenging unsafe behaviours and driving a positive culture
* Ensure compliance with legislation, company standards, and ISO certifications (ISO 9001 & 14001)
* Lead incident investigations, carrying out root cause analysis and ensuring lessons learned are applied
* Deliver detailed risk assessments and internal audits to maintain safe working practices
* Develop and implement SHEQ policies and procedures in line with business objectives
* Manage and maintain the H&S training matrix, delivering inductions and supporting toolbox talks
* Support and deliver SHEQ improvement projects, driving efficiencies and cost savings
* Embed robust quality control processes across manufacturing and technical functions
* Engage with all levels of the organisation, collaborating with senior stakeholders and external bodies
What you will need to succeed:
* Experience in a SHEQ or equivalent role
* NEBOSH General Certificate
* Working knowledge of safety regulations in the UK and Ireland
* IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
* Knowledge of auditing, risk assessments, and incident management
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don’t worry if you don’t):
* Degree in Health & Safety, Quality, or a related discipline.
* Experience within the manufacturing industry
* Prior experience auditing against ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
* Other relevant Health & Safety certifications
