Purpose of Role:
* Responsible for the identification and investigation of assigned security incidents in response to proactive data-mining of retail and interactive (web-based) data; the provision of detailed evidence and expert support to law enforcement / government agencies; the prevention of fraud and internal investigations within Allwyn.
* All investigations are to be logged and completed using the case management system and where necessary, escalated in accordance with the Allwyn suspension and sanction process.

* Through our key security services, we work with the business to protect our people and key assets, and maintain the overall integrity of the National Lottery.
Team Description:
* The Protective Security Team safeguards the security and integrity of The National Lottery through its activities to prevent, detect and deter any potential threat activity.
Key Accountabilities or Duties:
* Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) in respect of all enquiries about The National Lottery from government and law enforcement agencies; including police, DWP, NCA, SFA, Home Office Immigration and Trading Standards. Provide expert advice and associated data in a timely fashion to support formal investigations.
* Conduct initial (desktop) investigations into suspicious High-Tier prize claims.
* Specifically investigate, advise and respond to all requests for ‘Winners’ Confidential Data’ from outside agencies, in accordance with the Licence to Operate
* Gather, analyse and prepare Allwyn data into detailed statements of evidence, with associated exhibits, for police and other law enforcement agencies.
* Where necessary deliver formal evidence at court or other formal proceedings in relation to those statements and National Lottery matters.
* Review Scratchcard game designs for security risks.
* Act as an Approver for Pack Reconstruction Data Reports from the manufacturer.
* Identify and contribute to the implementation of continual process improvements related to investigating and managing product and service incidents within the team.
* When assigned, conduct further skilled research in respect of business systems and terminal activity data prepared by the. Take the lead on office-based investigations into all data anomalies highlighted in these reports.
* Liaison with retailers to understand and question the data anomalies. Offer advice and guidance where appropriate and forward to Collators to be assigned for further field-based investigation as deemed necessary.
* Demonstrate truly effective ways of responding to the data analytics and make continual improvements to the quality of casework assigned to field-based investigators.
* Increase the team’s capability to respond to and detect e-crime on the Interactive Platform (CIP / UPAM).
* Investigate anomalies highlighted on CIP / UPAM, flagged by the Intelligence Team and make enquiries with players to understand and question the data anomalies. Offer advice and guidance where appropriate and initiate investigations as deemed necessary.
* Investigate, resolve and report on assigned incidents within agreed timescales by interviewing retailers and/or players, or making contact with the police or other agency as appropriate.
* Prepare investigation reports presenting facts, circumstances and conclusions to support management decisions regarding any sanctions or corrective action.
* Coach, motivate and develop increased fraud expertise and knowledge within a small team of Investigators and Collators.
* Deputize for the Senior Investigator when required.
* Provide National Lottery and investigative advice and guidance to team members, Security Operations Manager, Senior Investigator and other departments when required.
* Provide cover for Field-based Security Investigators when required - Visit retailers and take relevant action, such as uplifting Scratchcards and serving written notices to suspend or terminate the Retailer Agreement as required.
* Provide cover for Field-based Security Investigators when required - Visit and inspect Retailer premises to ensure compliance, combat fraudulent activity, sales to/by minors and ticket cancellation errors, and to provide security or procedural advice, as necessary.
* Where appropriate take the lead in the drafting, amendment and maintenance of current investigations related policies, processes and procedures.
* Execute internal investigations involving interaction with staff and departments, as requested by People, Legal or an Executive Director.
* Provide 24-hour security/investigation on-call facility on a weekly basis at regular intervals.
* Support media conferences for high-value winners; to maintain the safety and security of all parties and protect the anonymity of the winner before the press conference and their privacy after the event.
* Provide security guidance through Winner Services for high-value winners.
* Provide Investigation support to Allwyn, including coordinating activities with suppliers and Police if necessary.
Skills & Experience:
* At least five years’ experience of working in a regulatory / legal / law enforcement environment.
* At least two experiences of conducting investigations.
* Strong ability to present and clearly defend findings and recommendations of investigations; strong organisational and analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to work independently and manage challenges.
* Ability to identify investigative issues and customize, implement/execute solutions
* Ability to write detailed, accurate complex investigative and business correspondence and present information.
* Ability to use the relevant Allwyn databases and systems.
* Ability to analyse, interpret and make use of information to assess the potential for abnormal activity in operational activities and to detect and prevent fraud.
* Knowledge of lottery security procedures, retailer responsibilities and the Standard Retailer Agreement.
* Knowledge of the Game Rules and Procedures, terminal messages and terminal activity reports.
* Knowledge of all relevant Allwyn policies.
* Knowledge of under-age play and excessive / unhealthy play strategies.
* Awareness of police procedures and legal requirements in statement taking / recording and evidence gathering.
* Knowledge of winner validation processes.
* Awareness of personal security measures.
* Awareness of physical security measures.
* Must be able to drive.
