This role involves working closely with the company's central activity, managing projects across a category, and collaborating with marketers. It is suitable for candidates with a factory, design, or innovation background seeking to develop project management skills and stakeholder engagement. The position is based at the client’s Head Office with a flexible 3/2 working arrangement.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Delivering the packaging programme in collaboration with Marketing, Product Development, and Operations.
2. Owning packaging specifications and processes.
3. Supporting sites and creating new packaging solutions.
4. Managing packaging documentation, timelines, and risk assessments.
5. Providing technical support aligned with procurement strategies.
6. Creating and ensuring compliance of packaging specifications.
7. Developing packaging documentation such as cutter guides, pallet patterns, and test protocols.
8. Conducting quality tests for new packaging formats.
9. Participating in Factory Development Meetings and communicating issues.
10. Developing trial protocols and acceptance testing for new machinery and materials.
11. Maintaining ongoing communication with suppliers and external groups.
Experience required:
1. Degree or equivalent in food science, packaging, engineering, design, or related fields.
2. Experience in an FMCG environment in a Packaging Technical role, with knowledge of various packaging materials and machinery.
3. Understanding of business terminology, product-to-market processes, and technical systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
4. Strong technical, communication, and team leadership skills.
5. Experience managing factory trials.
6. Basic Food Hygiene knowledge.
