Job Opportunity: Geotechnical Engineer at Wood in Reading
Wood in Reading is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their team on a staff basis, working on a range of ground-breaking, best-in-class projects. Key Responsibilities:
* Scope and oversee work as a partner with specialist consultants and GI contractors.
* Support the work of other disciplines with geotechnical input.
Minimum Requirements:
* Chartered status (Geologist or Civil Engineer).
* Experience in ground investigation scoping, specification, supervision, and interpretation for industrial developments (processing facilities, refineries) and linear projects (pipelines, roads, railways). Offshore experience is an advantage.
* Preparation of desktop studies and geohazard assessments.
* Preparation of earthworks specifications and site supervision experience is an advantage.
* Familiarity with ICE specification documents format (ground investigation, piling).
* Working knowledge of geotechnical British and American standards.
* Understanding of Eurocode 7 and ASCE 7.
* Knowledge of seismic design codes is an advantage.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic geotechnical software (. Leapfrog, GeoStudio).
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
