A leading global bank is seeking a Regulatory Change Specialist to join its sanctions function on a temp‑to‑perm basis. This role plays a critical part in regulatory change and horizon scanning across the EMEA region, working closely with senior stakeholders and sanctions advisory teams.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, interpreting, and communicating regulatory developments, ensuring that existing controls remain fit for purpose in response to regulatory change. While this role does not operate controls, it requires strong engagement with control owners to assess impact and recommend enhancements where needed. You will work closely with the Complex Sanctions Advisory team and provide high‑quality written outputs suitable for senior audiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform regulatory change and horizon scanning across EMEA
* Review and interpret full regulatory texts and supervisory guidance
* Assess regulatory impact and communicate implications clearly to stakeholders
* Partner with control owners to evaluate whether controls remain appropriate
* Support the ongoing effectiveness of the sanctions control framework
* Produce concise, high‑quality written materials for senior management
* Collaborate closely with sanctions advisory and wider compliance teams
Skills
* Experience in regulatory change, regulatory advisory, sanctions advisory, or government/regulatory bodies
* Strong ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into clear, practical guidance
* Comfortable working with complex data and producing succinct, well‑structured write‑ups
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Understanding of controls from an oversight perspective (not required to operate them)
