Key Responsibilities Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Create and maintain individual care plans addressing each young person’s educational, emotional, cultural, and health needs. Build and Lead a Strong Team: Recruit, develop, and retain a team that shares your commitment to outstanding care and consistency for the young people. Promote Young People’s Voices: Establish systems to ensure young people are actively consulted and involved in decisions about their care. Ensure Quality Standards: Maintain compliance with National Minimum Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence. Safeguard and Support: Take responsibility for managing any complaints or safeguarding concerns, ensuring the highest standards of child protection. Collaborate Effectively: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals to promote positive outcomes for each young person. Manage Resources Responsibly: Oversee budgets, staffing, and operational performance to ensure sustainable and effective service delivery. Champion a Positive Culture: Create an environment that prioritises wellbeing, safety, and empowerment for both young people and staff. Essential Requirements A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people in care. Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role within the last 5 years. Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment. Knowledge: Strong understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory frameworks. Skills: Confident in leadership, planning, resource management, and team development. Understanding of Trauma: Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and knowledge of trauma-informed care. Full UK Driving Licence required.
