This is an exciting opportunity to work in a stunning island setting, contributing to an exceptional dining experience within a 2 AA Rosette restaurant that has consistently maintained its accolades through to the 2025 season.
About the Role As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in leading kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. This is a hands-on leadership role within a professional and creative kitchen, focused on delivering imaginative cuisine using the finest seasonal and locally sourced ingredients from the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall including fresh fish, lobster, and crab landed daily from the surrounding waters.
You will play a key role in maintaining efficient kitchen workflows, mentoring junior chefs, and helping to drive culinary innovation aligned with the restaurants award-winning standards.

Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing seasonal menus
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production and presentation
Ensure full compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen team members
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and workflow efficiency
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering to maintain optimal inventory
Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu concepts
Work collaboratively to deliver exceptional guest dining experiences
Candidate Requirements Proven experience in a professional kitchen within a restaurant or similar environment
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary methods
Excellent understanding of food safety standards and compliance
Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality standards
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
