We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Homelessness Advisor (Families) to join Derby Homes Housing Options and Homelessness service.
You will supervise and support the homelessness team, ensuring Derby Homes meets its statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 Part 7, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Your role will involve developing and delivering prevention and relief pathways, managing complex cases, supporting service improvements, and leading your team to provide high-quality outcomes for households at risk of homelessness.
Working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and customers, you will have the opportunity to influence service development, contribute to strategic homelessness action plans, and deliver innovative solutions to prevent homelessness and support vulnerable families in Derby.

You will have:
4. Knowledge of housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
5. Experience of case management and managing risk for vulnerable people.
6. Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to manage team performance, provide coaching, and deliver staff development.
8. Understanding of safeguarding, equalities, and social inclusion.
9. Experience of using IT systems and electronic case management effectively.
