Description
This role will support the Head of Department to deliver a high‑quality Carpentry curriculum, including classroom/workshop, theory and practical teaching, assessments and reviews aligned with Bath College quality expectations.
Key Purpose
To deliver a high‑quality Carpentry curriculum and associated assessment, meeting Bath College quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.
* Deliver up to L1, L2, L3 Carpentry standards and programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
* Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and other related activities that impact on learning effectiveness.
* Plan and deliver specialist sessions using appropriate teaching methods, embedding promotion of diversity within the Carpentry industry and the College.
* Coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
* Work pro‑actively to forward the success and vision of the department.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade C or above.
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in a Carpentry/Joinery discipline.
* L5 teaching qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
