Potters Bar Clinic School forms part of a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), providing education for young people aged 13–18 with personality disorders and complex social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Set within a secure and therapeutic clinical environment, our school offers a safe and supportive space where pupils can continue their education while working towards recovery.
We are seeking an innovative and compassionate Art Teacher who is passionate about the power of creativity to support emotional expression, engagement, and academic progress. This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to teach in a setting where your work will have a profound and lasting impact.

Your Role Will Include:
•Delivering engaging, inclusive and trauma-informed Art & Design lessons for learners aged 13–18
•Supporting pupils in achieving qualifications from Unit Awards to Level 2/3
•Providing a creative outlet that supports emotional regulation, self-expression, and confidence-building
•Adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse and complex needs of our students
•Working collaboratively with education, care and clinical teams to promote holistic progress
•Contributing to and delivering against Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

About You:
•Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with a specialism in Art & Design
•Experience teaching young people with SEMH, SEND, or in alternative provision/secure settings is highly desirable
•Able to design a flexible, therapeutic and engaging curriculum that values process as much as product
•Strong classroom management and emotional resilience
•Committed to inclusive education and trauma-informed practice
•Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils who may be reluctant to engage in traditional learning
