Overview
Data Centre Project Manager / Service Readiness Manager role at TieTalent. This role focuses on the day-to-day management of tasks related to service delivery in a Data Centre environment, coordinating Co-Lo and PWR activities, and ensuring work orders and footprint activities meet customer expectations and SLAs. The objective is to drive a best-in-class data centre operation and align with Operational Excellence goals.
The role involves mentoring and coaching the Service Installation Supervisor and ensuring Specialist Services are delivered effectively on the front line to achieve KPI and RFS objectives.
Responsibilities
* Identify and manage resources for planning, development, and delivery of specified services, primarily rack and cage installations, with secondary support to the PWR team. Engage with and influence senior stakeholders and project teams through change management to ensure service levels and data integrity.
* Define and manage requirements for large, complex initiatives within the Service Delivery space, prioritising activities for rack and cage installations and, where required, supporting the power team. Obtain input and formal agreement from stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Delivery, Security).
* Collaborate with the Service Delivery Team and Supervisor to provide RFP and RFI responses from the Colo Installations Team, reporting to the Sales Admin team for new business opportunities (as applicable).
* Engage with Sales, Sales Planning, Admin, Engineering, DC Ops, or the Project Management Office to ensure products sold can be delivered and supported going forward.
* Manage contractors and suppliers of services; demonstrate a solid understanding of Data Centre Operations and the components of a live production DC hall; understand Shared/Dedicated Installations in a Data Centre environment.
* Apply expertise in at least two of the following disciplines: Electrical, Optical, Connectivity, Colocation (Server Cabinets and PDUs), Health & Safety, Project Management, raised floor, Fire Alarm and suppression systems, and Access control.
Qualifications / Experience
* Experience in data centre environments, with delivery of rack and cage installations and related service activities.
* Strong stakeholder management and change management capabilities.
* Commercial awareness to support RFP/RFI processes and service delivery commitments.
* Knowledge of DC operations and the core elements of a live data centre environment; familiarity with installation types (shared/dedicated) and relevant disciplines listed above.
