Project Director – Construction Projects – Civils – EPC Exclusive – National
Oliver Sanderson is partnered with a leading global engineering and services organisation to appoint a Project Director within their UK Energy division. This is a high‑impact leadership role, supporting the delivery of cutting‑edge decarbonisation and renewable energy solutions.
Reporting into the Director of Energy Solutions, the Project Director will lead the successful delivery of energy EPC contracts across the UK, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and operational excellence. The appointed individual will be accountable for full end‑to‑end project execution – ensuring safety, environmental compliance, financial performance and the timely completion of projects.
Key responsibilities
 * Lead all aspects of EPC project delivery.
 * Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
 * Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
 * Manage and expand a high‑performing project delivery team, ensuring best‑in‑class standards.
 * Oversee Cost Value Reconciliation, risk mitigation, cash flow, and forecasting.
 * Develop and manage supplier and subcontractor relationships.
 * Guide and support direct and indirect resources to optimise productivity and output.
 * Ensure regulatory and environmental obligations are fully met.
 * Engage with stakeholders to maintain transparency and commercial integrity throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications and experience
Our client is looking for a proven leader in energy or construction project delivery, with substantial M&E engineering experience. You will have led on projects valued at £10M–£50M. You will hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and have a deep understanding of the UK EPC market and decarbonisation technologies. You will bring strong commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, risk and opportunity management and strategic procurement experience. In addition, excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills will be key to fostering collaborative teams and successful client outcomes.
