We’re opening a brand-new, stand-alone Vets for Pets practice in Baglan, Port Talbot this September, and this is a rare opportunity to join from the very beginning.

About the Practice
Our purpose-built, modern practice has been designed with both patients and colleagues in mind and includes:
5. 4 consult rooms (including shared x-ray room)
6. Separate dog and cat waiting areas
7. Dedicated prep area and operating theatre
8. Dentistry suite
9. In-house lab, digital x-ray and ultrasound (planned)
10. 8 cat kennels, 8 dog kennels + 2 walk-in kennels
11. Separate isolation ward
12. Large colleague space
13. Shower facilities
14. Free parking and secure bike storage
We’ll also have the space to welcome visiting specialists, allowing us to keep more advanced work in-house.
About You
We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:
15. Has strong consultation and communication skills
16. Demonstrates sound clinical reasoning and problem-solving
17. Is confident with routine surgery and procedures
18. Is comfortable with sole charge when required
19. Shares our passion for delivering high standards of patient and client care
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who wants to be part of building something special.
The Role
20. Full-time (40 hours), but flexible & part-time hours considered
21. Monday–Friday: 9am–6pm
22. 1 in 3 Saturdays (9am–1pm)
23. No out-of-hours

About the Practice Owner
Our Practice Owner, Rebecca, graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and brings a wealth of experience from both private practice and a busy PDSA hospital, alongside holding a certificate in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care.
Beyond veterinary work, Rebecca serves as an on-call firefighter, bringing exceptional teamwork, resilience, and community spirit to the practice.
