The Role
We have an excellent Temporary opportunity to join our Fortem team at Orbit Housing as a Refuge Disposal Driver/Labourer in the Social Housing planned works team for approx 3 months, You will be responsible for helping to load old kitchens and bathrooms into our company Tipper Van and making regular trips to the correct refuge locations and completing required paperwork for deliveries, therefore heavy lifting and driving is essential. You will be covering a patch of social housing Stratford upon Avon and surrounding areas and there are some properties as far as Oxford so travel is essential. Core Hours are Monday-Friday Start 8.00am-4.30pm - Work Tipper Van and Fuel card provided You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. Operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around tenants and colleagues.
The Project
Fortem's contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing. Duties and Responsibilities
You would be expected to drive one of our large Tipper vans to advised locations – with varying distances around Stratford Upon Avon (Please note we have properties in Oxford which is around 90 min drive from Stratford circa 60 miles) Once at the location you will help load stripped out kitchen or bathroom onto Tipper vehicle and drive to next destination and repeat. Once tipper is full or at weight to drive to tip location of which there are several within the patch (need to ensure empty overnight) Expectation would be to get around multiple destinations (4-6 depending upon locations) and tip each day There is some paperwork involved as each tip would involve a booking in and recording process for waste Transfer purposes This is a a legal requirement so needs to be done accurately Work professionally around the Trades and Tenants
What you will need
Good Driving abilities Ability for Heavy Lifting Organised with good understanding of Health and Safety Professional and Courteous with Trades and Tenants Full UK driving licence with max 5 points No driving bans in past 5 years Able to pass basic DBS check Available to work 40hours per week on a 3 month contract which might be able to go permanently in the future
