The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Metcalfe Farms Haulage as an apprentice based at the company’s head office in Leyburn, North Yorkshire. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as an Apprentice Transport Planner.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and develop a career in HGV Logistics Planning.
This role is a full-time position. The first 56 weeks of your employment will be completing your apprenticeship. This is a workplace based role where you will complete the apprenticeship online and with all sessions with the training provider completed virtually.
Key aspects of the role include:

✅ Gain experience in sustainability and transport regulations
✅ Support the team with administrative tasks
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Enthusiastic and eager to learn about transport planning
✔️ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
✔️ Good communication and teamwork abilities
✔️ Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, mapping/GIS software is a plus)
✔️ Minimum qualifications: GCSEs in Maths & English or equivalent
✔️ No prior experience needed— just a willingness to grow and a passion for transport and logistics!

The Apprenticeship is a Transport Operator 2. This will give the successful candidate a great understanding of a transport business. Following completion of the apprenticeship there are additional courses that are available offering a more specific transport planning experience.
