Description Role: Community Engagement Coordinator Salary: £37,300 per annum Location: Newcastle (North), Tyne and Wear. Permanent: Permanent – Full-Time – 37 hours a week. A bit about the role Are you passionate about improving the lives of children, young people, and families? Action for Children is seeking a dynamic and experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to support us to deliver high-quality, impactful services across Newcastle as part of the Children and Families Newcastle Locality Offer. You will be based within the North Locality. What you will be doing: As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for: • Leading and managing a team, ensuring consistent application of Action for Children’s policies and procedures across the management structure. • Providing high-quality, outcome-focused services to children, young people, and families based on assessed needs. • Coordinating team activities to build resilient, safe, and responsive communities, such as taking a lead on HAF and Evidenced Based Group Work. • Collaborating with senior managers to evaluate and improve service provision through community consultation and feedback. • Initiating innovative, research-informed projects in partnership with local agencies. • Developing meaningful volunteer roles and ensuring safe recruitment, induction, and supervision practices. • Providing leadership in safeguarding, modelling best practice in line with Action for Children’s Safeguarding Framework. • Maintaining accurate reporting systems and using data to inform management decisions. • Building strong partnerships with colleagues, community organisations, and external agencies. We’re looking for someone who: • Has proven experience in managing teams within children’s services or a similar setting. • Proven experience of project management. • Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. • Is confident in safeguarding practices and community engagement. • Can work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to deliver innovative services. • Is passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.
