Job Title: Social Worker – Specialist Children’s Services

We’re seeking a qualified Social Worker who specializes in Children’s Services to join our team in Kent.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will handle and assess complex cases to ensure resources are used effectively, sharing your professional social work knowledge with the team. You will guide and support other Social Workers in their professional growth and represent us in court for important and sensitive cases. Additionally, you will supervise staff as instructed by the Team Leader, assess the practice of students on placement, and help develop new initiatives.
Qualifications and Experiences:
To be eligible for this role, you must have a degree in Social Work, CQSW/DipSW, or a similar qualification, and be registered as a social worker with the General Social Care Council. You need to have extensive experience working with children and families, and experience handling complex family situations in a statutory childcare setting. Additionally, you must possess excellent direct work skills with children and their families, the ability to ensure quality through supervision, case audits, and reviews, and the ability to work within an Equal Opportunities, non-discriminatory framework. Good negotiation and interaction skills are also essential. Furthermore, you should have a deep understanding of the current relevant legislative framework and national policy, as well as expertise in child development and attachment theory.
