As part of our transformation journey, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy Team Manager to join our Daytime AMHP Team within Adult Social Care. You will help drive safe, effective and person‑centred mental health services while supporting and developing a dedicated team of professionals.


Responsibilities

* Provide operational leadership, supervision and specialist advice to AMHPs and social care staff
* Lead day‑to‑day operations, ensuring effective case allocation and compliance with statutory duties under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007), Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014
* Undertake Mental Health Act Assessments as a warranted AMHP, ensuring least restrictive options are applied
* Supervise and support staff, including trainee AMHPs, to deliver safe, high‑quality and person‑centred practice
* Manage performance, case quality and safeguarding responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with NHS partners, police, courts, voluntary organisations and council services
* Deputise for the Team Manager and contribute to continuous service improvement and policy development


Qualifications

* Social Work England registration and a current Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) warrant
* Substantial post‑qualifying experience in adult social care and mental health practice
* Proven ability to supervise, mentor and support staff to deliver high‑quality outcomes
* Strong knowledge of social care legislation, safeguarding and best practice in adult mental health
* Excellent communication, analytical and influencing skills
* A flexible and resilient leadership style, with commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement
