We are looking for a substantive Consultant in Urology to join us within the Surgical Directorate at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust and NHS are facing a time of transformation, challenge, and opportunity. The Urology team is developing its service as part of the lighthouse project, introducing new treatments for BHP, and further developing its urology investigations unit. We need a Consultant Urologist with vision and leadership skills to join our enthusiastic team of surgeons to strengthen our team for the future.

The post will be based at Airedale Hospital. Airedale NHS Foundation Trust serves a diverse geographical and demographic area, from the Yorkshire Dales to Skipton, Ilkley, and urban Keighley. The hospital is located between Keighley and Skipton, only 10 miles from Bradford and within an hour from Leeds.
Airedale is a national leader in Telemedicine and will benefit from a new hospital build due for completion by 2030.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) / CESR / European Community Rights
* An appropriate higher "Urology" surgical qualification.
Experience
* Sufficient experience to provide Acute and Elective Urology services at Consultant Level across a range of Urological techniques
* Experience/knowledge relevant to local and national access waiting time targets including Cancer Waiting Time (CWT) Targets and Referral To Treatment (RTT) Targets
* Independent running of Urodynamics Service & DGH Level female functional Neuro-urology
Teaching Skills
* Evidence of participation in, and demonstrable commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Trust.
* Ability to contribute to teaching
* Experience with distance learning or other modern learning methods
* Attendance at "training for teaching" and "assessment and appraisal" courses.
* Interest in educational methods (e.g., Cert.Ed.)
Academic Achievements / Research
* Ability to perform critical literature appraisal
* Evidence of recent and current research
* Knowledge of up-to-date literature
* Publications in peer-reviewed journals
Clinical Governance / Audit
* Experience participating in regular clinical audits
* Ability to undertake audits and implement key actions

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per year, pro rata, plus on-call
