SEN Teacher New School Opening 2026 Our client is opening a brand-new specialist school in late 2026 for children and young people aged 519 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a planned capacity of 72 students, the school will offer a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
They are now seeking an enthusiastic and skilled general classroom teachers (in primary and/or secondary) who aredeeply passionate about working with children. The Role As a Teacher, you'll deliver high-quality teaching and learning for our pupils, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, set personalised targets, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
Monitoring progress and reporting to parents, carers, and senior staff.
Leading on a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues.
Managing and supervising support staff within your classroom.
Maintaining compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies.
Skills & Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience of teaching a thematic curriculum within primary or secondary education
Experience in special school settings, particularly with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
Working understanding of ASC and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including complex presentations
Desirable:
Additional qualifications in SEND
Experience in curriculum development for learners with SEND
Nurturing and empathetic relationship building skills
