Terumo BCT is a Global leader in blood management, blood safety, therapeutic apheresis, cell therapy and cell collections. We have an opportunity for a
full-time temporary Production Support Lead
to join Terumo BCT- Larne Site.
The successful candidate will provide senior-level operational support within the Production team. This role will act as a development bridge above Process Leads, providing on-the-floor support, coaching, and ownership of delegated tasks and projects, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Support Development of Process Leads
* Mentor and coach newly recruited Process Leads in their transition to confident front-line people managers.
* Provide real-time feedback on handling operator performance, conflict resolution, and process adherence.
* Act as a sounding board and escalation point for Process Leads in live production scenarios.
Operational Task Ownership
* Take responsibility for delegated operational activities, including shift coordination, material readiness, production documentation, and troubleshooting.
* Ensure effective shift handovers, tracking progress, and escalating issues as appropriate.
* Lead on non-critical but time-consuming activities (e.g., reconciliation checks, equipment readiness, training compliance reviews).
Project & Continuous Improvement Activities
* Deliver improvement initiatives such as waste reduction, process efficiency, and simplification projects.
* Support data collection, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
* Encourage and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement across production teams.
Documentation & Compliance
* Ensure batch documentation and material reconciliation are accurate and timely.
* Support monitoring of training and procedural compliance, closing gaps where identified.
* Reinforce GMP and safety standards through coaching and example-setting.
Collaboration & Communication
* Act as a bridge between Process Leads and Production/Assistant Managers to align priorities.
* Provide feedback to managers on the performance and development needs of Process Leads.
* Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and solution-focused production environment.
Person Specification
* Experience in a manufacturing environment (pharma/medical devices preferred).
* Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end production processes.
* Proven leadership of large teams of up to 100 members.
* Training and development experience, including delivering competency assessments, coaching, and mentoring operatives.
* Demonstrated ability to coach or guide junior leaders (Process Leads or equivalent).
* Problem-solving and organisational skills with a continuous improvement mindset (Green Belt trained preferred).
* Collaborative, approachable, and confident working across teams.
* Health & Safety expertise, including developing and implementing risk assessments, safety investigations, and leading safety culture improvements.
