We’re now looking for an Area Housing Officer to join our Housing Operations team. This is a customer-facing role for someone who enjoys being visible in their communities, managing tenancies, and working proactively with residents and partners to deliver excellent housing services.About the role As an Area Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering a responsive, customer-focused housing management service across your patch. You’ll work closely with tenants to meet their needs, manage all aspects of tenancy and estate management, and support tenancy sustainment through visible, proactive engagement within the community. This is a full-time, permanent role (36.25 hours per week), covering Preston, Lancaster and Kendal. You’ll be primarily office-based, with regular time spent out in your area carrying out visits and estate work. You’ll manage your own diary and workload, balancing planned activity with responsive casework. Due to the community-based nature of the role, a driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. What We Are Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have: Excellent customer service delivery Strong communication and interpersonal skills Effective time management, with the ability to deliver value for money A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle Desirable (but not essential) Experience of partnership working Experience of working within social housing management CIH Level 3 or other relevant housing qualification Why Progress?
