Role Purpose
The Senior Technical Delivery Manager will oversee planning, delivery, and monitoring of complex engineering change initiatives, focusing on Agile methodologies to lead software and infrastructure projects, with occasional Waterfall use. This role is central to driving delivery effectiveness, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement within engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Software Engineering programmes, ensuring scope, time, and budget adherence.
* Manage programme and project risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
* Engage stakeholders to secure buy-in and support.
* Develop and implement engineering delivery frameworks, emphasizing Agile practices.
* Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders aligning with strategic goals.
* Monitor delivery performance to meet technical and business outcomes.
* Lead post-delivery reviews for lessons learned and improvements.
* Utilize delivery management tools and Agile practices for efficiency.
* Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, and business users.
* Conduct reviews, capture lessons, and promote ongoing improvement.
* Provide thought leadership in Agile delivery and contribute to supplier relationships.
Minimum Requirements
* Proven experience delivering complex technical or software programmes in Agile environments.
* Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) or equivalent.
* Experience with agile tools and methodologies.
* Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Familiarity with interpreting code (e.g., Python) and understanding cloud-native applications.
* Experience in project planning, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
* Ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and guide teams.
* Excellent communication skills and budget management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with AWS platforms; AWS certification is a plus.
* Background in software development or technical delivery.
* Exposure to smart metering, broadcast/media, or enterprise systems.
* Participation in AWS Well-Architected Reviews or similar assessments.
