About the Role
Our partner SEND School in Basildon are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Key Worker to join our specialist SEND provision. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive impact on their daily school experience.
As a Key Worker, you will provide consistent, structured support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider pastoral team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a key point of support for identified pupils throughout the school day
2. Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND
3. Support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs
4. Assist with the delivery of individual support plans and EHCP targets
5. Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
6. Support pupils during transitions, interventions, and unstructured times
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals

8. Have experience working with children or young people with SEND
9. Be calm, patient, and resilient, with a nurturing approach
10. Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
11. Be reliable, proactive, and adaptable
12. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
13. Relevant training or qualifications are desirable but not essential
