My client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude. The successful candidate will provide administrative and financial support primarily to the Finance Manager and Accounts Manager, playing a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The office is based in LS25 and you must drive due to location.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage the Purchase Ledger
*
Process supplier payments in a timely and accurate manner
*
Raise and issue Sales Invoices
*
Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments
*
Identify and resolve discrepancies across financial documentation
*
Update and maintain internal financial spreadsheets
*
Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
*
Support the preparation of management accounts and month-end closing duties
*
Post journal entries as required
*
Assist both the Procurement Manager and Finance Manager with financial and administrative tasks
Essential Skills & Experience:
*
Proven experience in a finance or accounts-based role
*
Understanding of VAT rules and treatments
*
Experience with SAGE 50 (desirable)
*
Strong IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Excel
*
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*
Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Working Hours:
*
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
*
Saturday working on a rota basis from May to November (paid in addition to basic salary)
