Overview
This post has been created to meet the rapidly expanding requirements for pain and anaesthetic services within the Trust. The successful applicant will join a team of six other Pain Specialists/Consultant Anaesthetists and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist providing a well-established chronic pain service, and a larger team of anaesthetists sharing in the delivery of anaesthetics. The chronic pain service is supported by a large team of experienced nurses, providing pain management services.
Responsibilities
* Oversight of Adult Intensive Care within the Pain department.
* Organisation of the Day Surgery Unit, including facilities at Ely.
* Collaboration with the Musculoskeletal Directorate, Rheumatology and Trauma & Orthopaedics, and the Department of Anaesthesia.
* Support delivery of pain management services alongside nurses and other specialists.
Requirements
* Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English for effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, in accordance with GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
* Non-UK applicants must possess IELTS/OET certification before obtaining a GMC licence.
