Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a long‑established small animal practice in Edenbridge. This senior clinical role offers an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon with a strong surgical background who is ready to step into, or further develop, a leadership position while remaining actively involved in hands‑on clinical work.
Set in a peaceful countryside location, the practice has been serving the local community since 1982 and is known for its loyal client base and high standards of care. You will work alongside two other vets in a supportive, collaborative environment, with access to excellent facilities and advanced diagnostics through a nearby 24‑hour referral hospital.
This role is offered on a full‑time basis across four days per week, with part‑time applicants also welcome.
Qualifications Needed
* RCVS registration with eligibility to practise as a veterinary surgeon in England
* Extensive experience in small animal practice with a strong surgical skill set
* Demonstrated leadership ability or readiness to move into a lead role
* Confidence managing complex medical and surgical cases
* Strong communication skills with a client‑focused mindset
* Commercial awareness aligned with maintaining high clinical standards
In This Position, Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Leading and maintaining high clinical standards across the practice
* Delivering exceptional medical and surgical care to patients
* Mentoring, coaching, and developing veterinary and nursing colleagues
* Working closely with the Practice Manager to support practice performance
* Ensuring clear client communication and continuity of care
* Sharing clinical best practice within the practice and across the wider network
Package
* Senior leadership role within a well‑established countryside practice
* Salary up to £80,000 DOE
* £5,000 signing bonus
* Quarterly Lead Vet Contribution Scheme with potential earnings of up to 20% above salary
