Offer description

Are you an experienced people leader within mechanical assembly, production or operations? Are you passionate about developing teams, driving performance, and delivering consistent quality on the shop floor? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing environment.

Tell me more…

This is a hands-on, fast-paced position supporting and leading Assembly Operators across multiple mechanical assembly areas — including CV/Aux, Modules, Mobile, 4V3 & 4V5. You’ll coordinate daily operations, ensure safety and quality targets are met, resolve issues quickly, and work closely with planning, machining, logistics and other support teams to keep production flowing.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on structure, people leadership, and maintaining high operational standards while actively driving improvements.

What will you be doing?

Leadership & People Management

• Lead and coordinate Assembly Operators to meet daily and weekly production requirements

• Conduct 1-2-1s and performance reviews in line with internal processes

• Manage attendance, absence reporting and holiday tracking

• Provide daily coaching, support and feedback on the shop floor

Daily Operations

• Allocate workloads and monitor output against plan

• Ensure correct use of parts, documentation, tooling and test facilities

• Deliver to safety, quality, delivery and cost expectations

• Complete daily checks, reconcile documentation and maintain build accuracy

Tier Management & Communication

• Lead Tier 1 meetings and ensure updates are prepared for Tier 3

• Report KPIs and escalate issues affecting SQDC

• Keep teams aligned and informed across all production areas

Continuous Improvement & Engagement

• Maintain and drive 5S standards across all assembly areas

• Encourage kaizens, safety observations and problem-solving

• Apply Lean principles and support continuous improvement projects

Operational Control

• Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts and good recording practices

• Monitor workflow end-to-end to meet departmental and plant targets

• Support robust, root-cause driven problem solving

What do you need?

• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical assembly

• Understanding of hydraulic assembly processes (advantageous)

• Experience in a production, operations or assembly-based environment

• Good PC literacy for reporting, documentation and tier board updates

• Clear awareness of customer deliverables and impact of quality

• Confident communication skills and ability to prioritise effectively

• A proactive, resilient, team-focused approach

Why apply?

• Opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a high-performing engineering environment

• Fast-paced, varied operational focus with real influence on daily output

• Supportive culture, strong team engagement and ongoing improvement opportunities

• A chance to make a real impact on people, processes and performance

If you’re a motivated and people-focused leader who thrives in a structured, hands-on manufacturing environment—and you want to step into a role where you can genuinely influence quality, flow and team engagement—then I’d love to hear from you.
