Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our friendly Oncology team on Laurel 2.
The Ward includes a 17-bed inpatient area and the addition of the Acute Oncology Assessment Bay.
A flexible nature is required, and previous experience in oncological care would be desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job
1. Welcoming patients onto the unit in a professional manner, acting as the advocate at all times to ensure both privacy and dignity.
2. Clarifying patients' details on arrival.
3. Ensuring the smooth flow of clinical and administrative work, whilst supporting Practitioners and colleagues.
4. Accurately entering data into the patient management systems and updating information as required.
5. Adhering to the requirements of the Data Protection Act, ensuring confidentiality of information regarding staff and patients is maintained at all times.
6. Dealing with telephone and direct enquiries promptly and effectively, providing information and prioritising queries as appropriate.
7. Cleaning, monitoring, and tidying equipment as directed; reporting any problems or malfunctions.
8. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
9. Remaining up to date with mandatory training and completing any additional courses required for this role.
10. Understanding all responsibilities and adhering to statutory requirements for Health and Safety, COSHH, PPE, fire safety, complaints, and accident reporting.
