Overview
Role: Mechanical Engineer (Test & Development) – Location: Bedfordshire – Type: Permanent
Key responsibilities
* Coordinate testing activities across site, acting as a clear technical point of contact
* Analyse test data and produce well-structured technical reports suitable for both internal review and customer-facing use
* Turn customer objectives and internal research ideas into well-defined test plans, including cost estimates and delivery timelines
* Assist with on-site customer support and technical visits when required
* Build expertise in current and emerging mechanical and automotive test methodologies
* Support technical training sessions for commercial teams and external partners
* Assist with vehicle fleet trials
* Communicate technical findings clearly to engineers, sales teams, and external stakeholders
About you
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical engineering experience
* Comfortable working with test data and confident using MS Excel for analysis and reporting
* Able to explain technical information clearly, whether in written reports, presentations, or face-to-face discussions
* Naturally collaborative, with the confidence to work across teams and with external partners
