Together, were building a better future. Were looking for a Senior Mobile Estate Technician to join our Estate Services team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a practical, hands-on role where youll work outdoors, travel across our patches and help deliver estate services that keep our neighbourhoods clean, safe and well-maintained. Youll carry out a wide range of estate tasks including jet washing, bin cleaning, bulk waste removal, graffiti removal, communal window cleaning and general estate upkeep. Youll also support the Estate Operations Manager by helping supervise the Mobile Estates team, carrying out spot checks, managing stock and providing on-the-ground problem solving. Key responsibilities Deputise for the Estate Operations Manager and support with team supervision Carry out spot checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and effective use Maintain stock levels and ensure timely distribution to teams Provide feedback and suggestions to improve schedules and operations Support with resolving on-site issues and adjusting routes or tasks as needed Assist with managing resident items in storage and returning items when required Cover staff absence and work flexibly across tasks at short notice Remove bulky waste and hazardous (non-asbestos) items safely and responsibly Carry out jet washing, bin cleaning and graffiti removal across estates Clean communal windows (internal and external) up to fourth-floor level Operate machinery including jet washers, steam cleaners, SkyVac systems and sweepers Complete daily work records using mobile devices Maintain vehicles and equipment, reporting faults promptly Clear blocked drains, gulleys and stack pipes using specialist equipment Keep communal areas secure, managing keys and access safely Drive service vehicles safely and maintain them to required standards Manage roadside safety when working on site Undertake minor repairs, painting, planting and signage tasks What were looking for Must haves Experience in roles involving significant manual handling Experience delivering front-line services on a mobile basis Basic knowledge of health and safety, including RAMS Experience giving direction or overseeing others in operational roles Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills, including using mobile apps Fluent spoken English Full clean UK driving licence Ability to work efficiently, manage time well and stay calm under pressure Ability to inspect vehicles and equipment, report faults and use mechanical equipment safely Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and residents Nice to haves Experience supervising staff Experience using commercial jet washers and chemicals Experience using bin-cleaning equipment Experience working in social housing Basic understanding of COSHH Knowledge of waste transfer rules and compliance For added brilliance Ability to carry out basic maintenance of tools and equipment A proactive, flexible approach with a passion for delivering great estate services Benefits Annual salary: £42,389 per annum Excellent Benefits 25 days holiday, increasing with service, plus Christmas closure and buy options Generous pension scheme up to 9.5% employer contribution Enhanced family-friendly leave Health cash plan claim up to £1,800 for everyday health costs Life cover and income protection Modern offices, free parking and EV charging 30 qualified Mental Health First Aiders Car leasing via salary sacrifice (permanent colleagues) Funded training, qualifications and apprenticeships 3 paid volunteering days Peer-recognition rewards platform Paid professional subscription (one per year) Working hours 42.5 hours per week (08:00 17:30 Monday Friday) Mobile role across our operating area Flexibility required to meet service needs Contract type: 12-month fixed-term contract Our Commitment We are committed to creating an inclusive workforce, by reflecting and representing the diversity of the communities we serve.
