Horizon Teachers are happy to be working closely with primary school in the borough of Croydon supporting in their search for a full time SEN teaching assistant to join their school from September for the full academic year.
This is a 3-form entry school whereby the aim is to teach children to take responsibility for their actions, their environment, and most importantly, for their learning. Children are taught the values that help them become confident, resilient and caring individuals and successful members of society who persevere in their learning.
As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be expected to do the following:
* Assisting students in their educational and social development.
* Working 1:1 with students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
* Supporting children with SEND, including ADHD, Autism and challenging behaviour
* Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
* Help to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
* Support teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
