An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 4 Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to join a busy and well-established laboratory service in London. This full-time, ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work within a fast-paced, high-throughput laboratory environment, supporting essential diagnostic services.
You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory efficiency and accuracy, contributing directly to patient care through high-quality sample handling and analyser support.

What you will do
* Load and unload Cobas 8000 analysers in line with laboratory protocols.
* Operate P671 and P612 systems accurately and efficiently.
* File and store samples correctly to ensure traceability and compliance.
* Aliquot samples for referral testing, maintaining sample integrity at all times.
* Manage in-house and referral pending lists, ensuring timely progression of work.
* Monitor and support reagent management to maintain uninterrupted laboratory workflow.
* Respond to customer service queries via email professionally and promptly.
* Handle incoming telephone calls, providing accurate information and support.
* HCPC registration (required).
* Previous experience working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in a clinical laboratory setting.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
* Driving is not required for this role.
