FP&A Analyst (Sheffield, UK)
An exciting opportunity to join the Finance team in Sheffield and play a central role in Aptean's cost management and profitability agenda. The FP&A Analyst carries specific responsibility for identifying cost savings and efficiency opportunities, producing regular savings reports, and providing rigorous analytical support on COGS and external third-party spend in close partnership with the business. The role also supports core FP&A activities - budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis - and actively uses AI tools to improve the quality and speed of financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proactively identify and size cost savings opportunities across assigned cost functions, prioritising external third-party spend and overhead categories,
2. Analyse COGS, vendor spend, and profitability across revenue streams,
3. Track and report savings initiatives, including status, ownership, and financial impact,
4. Support development of business cases and monitor delivery against savings targets,
5. Maintain accurate COGS reporting, including variance analysis and trend visibility,
6. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports in line with deadlines,
7. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including modelling and assumptions review,
8. Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses for strategic decision-making,
9. Leverage AI tools to improve analysis quality and reporting efficiency,
10. Identify and implement process improvements across Finance,
11. Communicate insights clearly to leadership,
12. Collaborate and proactively share knowledge within the team.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
13. Experience: 2-3 years in FP&A, ideally within a global, multi-currency technology or SaaS business
14. Education: Bachelor's degree in finance
15. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Power BI and AI tools for financial analysis.
16. Core Competencies: attention to detail, ability to interpret and explain financial data, clear written and verbal communication, and effective cross-functional collaboration
