We are looking for a talented Key Account Manager to strengthen existing relationships and develop new business opportunities across the North East. Responsibilities include managing project-based capital equipment sales (pumps), aftermarket, and service solutions, overseeing long-standing framework accounts, and identifying new opportunities within the sector.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key utility customers and delivery partners across the North East.
2. Develop strategic account plans aligned with Sulzer’s commercial goals.
3. Win new business across capital equipment and aftermarket portfolios.
4. Oversee the full sales cycle – from tendering to negotiation to project handover.
5. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, customer service) to ensure delivery excellence.
6. Report on pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer insights.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven experience in sales, key account management, or business development in an engineering environment, with a strong understanding of capital equipment (preferably pumps), rotating machinery, or industrial services.
2. Background in the UK water industry or related infrastructure sectors is preferred; candidates with a rotating equipment background interested in this space are also welcome.
3. Commercial acumen with the ability to manage frameworks and project-based sales.
4. Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing own diary.
5. Based in the North East with the ability to travel regionally.
