A Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET) at Amazon is a developer responsible for creating frameworks and tools to test products. This unique and challenging role offers the opportunity to design and develop extensive testing tools, combining software design engineering with software test engineering. You will write code that automatically verifies product functionality and identifies issues, often writing more code than the developers themselves. Key job responsibilities
1. Design and build automated test frameworks and test suites for development and testing cycles.
2. Use innovative test technologies to develop testing strategies for products.
3. Participate in design and code inspections.
4. Perform manual testing covering all functionalities of services as a prelude to automation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* BS degree in Computer Science from a reputed institution with 5+ years of core development experience as a Software Engineer.
* Understanding of computer science fundamentals and data structures.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to write clean, efficient code quickly.
* Understanding of QA methodologies, lifecycle, and processes.
* Experience in developing testing frameworks and automation tools is preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Excellent communication skills across functions and management levels in both formal and informal settings.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to track multiple test executions and synthesize results.
* Experience working with distributed, global teams.
* Creativity and initiative to enhance product test coverage and effectiveness.
