Dundee City Council is seeking a talented professional who is passionate about the environment, with extensive experience in project planning and coordination, stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and continuous improvement. Working in a hybrid style, based at home and at 5 City Square, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. Requirements
You will have a degree, or equivalent qualification, or be experienced in project planning and Council policy relating to environmental matters.
Responsibilities
You will lead and develop coherent environmental strategies aligned with local and national policies. You will lead and coordinate environment capital plan programming and support the development of the Environment Asset Management plan. You will oversee project design, surveying, estimating, GIS team management, and administration of capital and revenue projects. You will develop technical designs for parks development and master plans. You will lead and coordinate initiatives such as the Take Pride in Your City Campaign, Service events, and advise on Beautiful Scotland and Beach Award applications. You will also develop sports booking processes and foster links with community groups to support environmental initiatives aligned with Dundee City Council's strategies, such as the City Plan.
The Individual
You should have demonstrable knowledge of project management, preferably within the environmental sector, and extensive knowledge of street scene and parks issues. Experience in managing staff and teams, representing the Council on internal and external groups, and preparing formal reports is required. You should possess strong communication, leadership, organizational, and development skills. A current driving license is also necessary.
