About the Role
We are looking for a talented and driven Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a high-end, fresh food gastro pub in Tonbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to work with high-quality, seasonal ingredients in a busy, well-respected kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Help lead and motivate the kitchen brigade during busy services
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Assist with menu development using fresh, seasonal produce
Ensure all food hygiene, health, and safety standards are maintained
Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise waste
Train and support junior members of the kitchen team
Requirements
Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a fresh food environment
Experience working in a busy, high-volume kitchen
Passion for quality ingredients and modern British gastro pub food
Strong organisational skills and ability to perform under pressure
Good leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards
What We Offer
Competitive salary £32,000 £35,000 depending on experience
Tronc and performance-based bonus
Live-in accommodation available if required
