Job Description: Support Worker
Are you passionate about making a real difference through supporting vulnerable people? We have a support worker role in our supported housing service in Croydon & Crystal Palace. The role focuses on customer care, health and safety, flexibility, and adaptability to assist homeless individuals who are unable to live independently, providing practical and emotional support to help them regain independence.
Our vacancy is at the Fitze Millenium Centre, an 80-bed service for single homeless people aged 18-30, located conveniently near Crystal Palace Station with excellent transport links and on-site parking.
Our customers have diverse support needs, including mental health issues, care leaver status, probation, ex-offending, domestic violence, learning disabilities, and asylum seeking. Support is person-centred, requiring creativity and offering rewarding opportunities for personal and professional growth.
You will join a lively, supportive team to work with a caseload of at least 10 customers, helping them:
* Identify their strengths and needs to enable independent living
* Plan and set targets to achieve their goals
* Participate in activities that generate aspiration and confidence
A key aspect is networking and building relationships with other agencies to support customers in accessing benefits, housing, and education.
You should have knowledge of safeguarding, understanding why people become homeless, and awareness of statutory and voluntary resources available.

You will need to work shifts on a pre-planned rolling rota, including mornings (from 7am), evenings (until 10pm), mid-shifts, and weekends.
