* Knowledge of how Active Directory and Group policy are used to manage domain computers
* Understanding of TCP/IP and network communication technologies.
* Experience with Microsoft Windows in a networked environment.
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused IT Technician to support IT systems, infrastructure, and users. The role involves hands‑on technical work, day‑to‑day user support, and assisting with system maintenance across a varied and busy environment.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full‑time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay.
Key Duties
* Management and deployment of staff and Library computers
* Assist with the maintenance and support of Windows and Linux servers and College owned equipment
* Assist with network infrastructure support and deployment
* Provide user support to staff, students, academics and visitors
* Manage and oversee managed anti‑virus/security software
* Troubleshooting and repairing faulty IT equipment
* To control and maintain mail lists and user accounts
* To manage the IT support inbox and redirect jobs where needed
* To perform administrative tasks on CCTV, Door Access Control and EPOS as required
Selection Criteria
* Prior experience with Microsoft Windows in a networked environment
* TCP/IP based communication technologies
* A good working knowledge of Linux, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Windows Operating Systems
* Good communication skills. Written, verbal and electronic
* Knowledge of how Active Directory and Group policy are used to manage domain computers
* Familiar with Microsoft Office and common software configuration and settings
* A good working knowledge of Windows Domains
