CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Part-time -Thursday and Friday mornings (05:00am start time)

LOCATION: Tunbridge Wells

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,800 - 27,667 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.


BBC EXTEND

This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

BBC Radio Kent is the BBC’s Radio Station for the county of Kent. This is an opportunity to join the team producing the flagship BBC Radio Kent Breakfast Show, setting the day’s agenda for our listeners in Kent and beyond. We’re looking for someone who’s full of ideas and thrives in a fast‑paced environment to join our production team on Thursday and Friday mornings.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

* You’ll help producers in preparing and outputting our four‑hour weekday breakfast show.
* You will support a multiplatform approach to our local content.
* The role has technical responsibilities, including editing audio and dealing with live sources as the show is transmitted, as well as speaking to callers.
* You will be preparing content for our social media channels and BBC Sounds.
* As part of the production team, you will also come up with ideas for stories and treatments, set up guests, write scripts and provide research background.


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Experience of how to make the most of our social media and digital opportunities.
