Are you an experienced Environmental Advisor looking for a new challenge? We are working on an excellent opportunity with a contractor who is currently looking to add an Environmental Advisor to their Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team.
The role will be involved in the delivery of a live project, working closely with site teams to implement and enhance environmental processes and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, self-motivated, and solution-focused, with a practical approach to environmental site management.
Duties
* Operate in line with internal environmental policies and procedures.
* Maintain a strong understanding of current environmental legislation and ensure on-site compliance.
* Provide advice, support, and training to construction delivery teams on environmental compliance and best practices.
* Monitor site energy consumption and work towards performance improvements and carbon footprint reduction.
* Conduct regular site inspections, producing reports and recommendations for improvement.
* Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO50001, and relevant environmental permits and licenses.
* Oversee water pollution prevention, particularly silt management, including the collection of water samples.
* Contribute to the development of innovative environmental solutions, such as renewable energy integration for site equipment.
* Liaise with regulators, environmental specialists, and client representatives as required.
* Support the preparation of written bids for new projects and environmental awards.
* Track and report on environmental objectives and targets.
* Assist with audits and support accreditation processes.
* Monitor dust and noise levels on site.
* Oversee site ecology management practices.
* Contribute to the design and rollout of initiatives aimed at increasing environmental awareness and performance.
* Produce environmental activity reports and contribute to monthly project reporting.
* Investigate environmental incidents and near-misses.
Candidate:
* In-depth knowledge of current environmental legislation and industry best practices.
* Strong grasp of core environmental principles and regulations.
* Proficiency in report writing and legal compliance.
* Organised, self-driven, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Possession of a full UK driving licence.
1. Qualifications:
* Degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
* Recognised environmental qualification.
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, IOSH) – desirable.
* SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) certification.
* Valid CSCS card.
