EALTHCARE ASSISTANTS with MENTAL CARE EXPERIENCE
12-HOURS SHIFT, 8am-8pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
We are only able to accept applicants who have the right to work in the Uk and live within a commutable distance to the location of the job role and able to work full-time 33-44 hours per week.
The Nursing home is located in Bradford and offers a range of specialist care for residents, ranging from Alzeimer's and Parkinson’s care to care for stroke victims.
Successful applicants, will have 1-2 years experience preferably in a similar role.
Salary: £12.82 per hour

This position is crucial in the healthcare system, as Mental Health Care Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Patient Care: Provide personal care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
* Therapeutic Engagement: Engage with patients in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and alleviate distress. This includes identifying factors that may increase agitation and employing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
* Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and document patients' conditions, including any changes in behavior or mood, and report these to the nursing staff.
* Supportive Environment: Create a safe and compassionate environment for patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
* Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers, to implement care plans and support patients effectively.
* Crisis Intervention: Recognize signs of distress or crisis in patients and respond appropriately to ensure their safety and well-being.
Required Qualifications
* Experience: Previous experience in a care role, experience with dementia, brain injury and nursing home is desirable.
* Certifications: Holding a Care Certificate or equivalent is typically desirable.
* Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Cheerful, compassionate, respectful, and caring approach, and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and the desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.
* Ability to work on own initiative
