Overview
We are recruiting for a Head Housekeeper / Cleaner to join the Cherwell Ward at the Fulbrook Centre in Oxford to manage the housekeeping team and ensure all service standards are met and maintained. This role is 37.5 hours per week working various shifts including alternate weekends. The housekeeping team work closely with nursing staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors as well as overseeing catering provisions. The role also includes the organisation of staff rotas, order supplies as well as supervise and support your direct staff.
Responsibilities
* Manage the housekeeping team to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
* Oversee catering provisions where applicable and coordinate with nursing staff.
* Organise staff rotas and manage roster-related duties.
* Order supplies via the Trust E-ordering system and supervise staff in supply management.
* Provide staff training and induction; support and supervise direct staff.
* Record and retain documentation required for food and cleaning services (e.g., temperature checks and cleaning task lists).
* Regenerate frozen meals recording temperatures of food at defined stages as appropriate within wards.
* Report damages or hazards in inpatient rooms or ward areas (e.g., burnt-out light bulbs, broken furniture/fixtures) to the ward clerk.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong team player with experience in housekeeping within healthcare or hospitality.
* Excellent customer service and rota management skills.
* Ability to manage a small team of housekeeping staff and coordinate with other hospital services.
