Job Introduction
The Support Options Team is Bradford Council's adult social care support brokerage service.
The Team Leader will lead a small team of brokerage officers that will liaise with people and their families to provide information and support to service users choosing to take all or some of their personal budget as a Direct Payment. Supporting service users to source appropriate community support, for example through employing support staff directly or by directly contracting with support providers. Supporting service users to resolve any difficulties they may be encountering in managing their Direct Payment.
The main responsibilities of this role:
* To provide day to day leadership and support to a team of Brokerage Officers, including performance management through carrying out regular supervisions and appraisals.
* To co-ordinate the allocation and control of the workload of a team of Brokerage Officers.
* To consult with staff within the teams, colleagues in Operational Services (both in the Department Adult Social Care and Children's Services), Commissioning and Contract Management, Financial Support Services and the ICB on changes to working practices to ensure a good quality, efficient and effective services are delivered and maintained.
* To offer advice and guidance to the team and colleagues on direct payments.
